What Is The True Meaning Of Faith

The true meaning and significance of Faith and Belief have been described in depth by the person who came to be known as “Jesus”, but have since become distorted and largely misunderstood under the influence of orthodox religion.

In this blog post then we will take a closer look at the true meaning of Faith.

The word “Faith” translated from the word in Ancient Greek – from which the Bible was originally translated – was “Pistis” – which meanings include “conviction” or “assurance”.

Pistis in turn is a derivation of the Ancient Greek word “Peitho” which means “to wax confident”.

These are fairly acceptable translations keeping in Mind that Jesus spoke an ancient, now defunct language called Aramaic which is a totally different language to Greek, and one from which it is very difficult to actually translate – only interpret.

The Old Testament, being written and maintained in a relatively pure state, with no agenda, in ancient Hebrew says this of Faith:

Now Faith is the Substance of Things Hoped For, the Evidence of Things Not Seen — Hebrews 11:1

This is a much more accurate representation of True Faith for reasons we will discuss later.

As Expressions of Source, First Cause, God, we Share the Same unlimited, unrestricted powers of creation – more correctly Expression – all we ever need is to realise and express those powers with Belief – the subject of a further blog post – to enjoy complete control over earthly experience.

The opposite of Faith is “doubt”. Doubt is a very powerful, but highly negative and destructive emotion, related to “fear”, that effectively blocks or retards the creative process by opposing Faith.

Alas many humans still, due to millennia of programming and control, find it much easier to embrace fear and doubt instead of Divine Faith.

If only people would reject fear and doubt to instead embrace Faith with Belief, Feeling, Intent Emotion and Passion, then life experience would change beyond imagination to that of Joy, Bliss and Freedom. Again, this entire process is the subject of further blog posts.

“Faith” is the Energy, the power behind attracting everything “asked for” effortlessly.

Jesus made this point time and again:

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you — Luke 17:5-6

And:

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. — Matthew 17:20

Throughout the Bible you will find similar references to Faith and Belief which, once properly understood, will be seen as the profound teachings they were intended to be.

The “secret” to experiencing anything is therefore very simple and extremely powerful:

Know, beyond all doubt, with complete conviction, confidence and assurance that we are all Integral, Divine aspect and expressions of Source, God, The One, with the same creative powers.

For those that still doubt, consider then the words of the mystic, messenger and healer who came to be known as Jesus.:

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. –Luke 12:32-34

By “bags which wax not old” Jesus is stating the powerful truth that the true treasure, the treasure that is eternal, is within. So we should not seek ephemeral material possessions without, but rather the Kingdom of Heaven within. So before seeking to manifest anything into your physical experience, we should always look within and never without with Perfect Faith.

Faith simply serves to emphasise that which already IS..

The “works” come automatically to the Heart that Believes With Perfect Faith.

In the context of the Divine Principle of Faith we should:

  1. Become Aware of That Which Eternally Is—the Omnipresence of Source.
  2. Claim the Good desired through Faith, Recognition, and Realization.
  3. Accept the desire as already Fulfilled.
  4. Realize Our Oneness with Source until the feeling of fulfilment arrives.
  5. To know that which we desire is already within, given, and awaiting Expression, through the infinite Divine power within us all – the same power that created the Universe in all its spheres.

Life is a state of conscious awareness. Nothing can come to us except as and through Consciousness through Source.

Where then is Source, God, The One?

Within each one of us

Not “within us” in the sense that He is “within our body”, “brain”, but within our Consciousness – or simply Within.

The profound truth is tat we ARE Source, We ARE All God, The One, The All, with the same creative powers to the extent of ability and Faith to express them.. This the meaning of True Faith.

Realisation of this ultimate and profound truth, will bring Faith in our Divine Expressive Powers.

I And the Father Are One. — John 10:30

This is one of the most misunderstood Principles.

In Truth Jesus was and is teaching the ultimate truth that all humans – All Life – are Divine, Infinite, Eternal Expressions of God, of Source, of The One. Again, this is the true meaning of Faith.

We and All Life are Expressions of Source, Experiencing through Source that we may evolve towards and ultimately achieve absolute Oneness With Our Source, God, Divine Love.

When Oneness with Source is fully understood, and can not only say but also Believe that I and the Father are One then all is possible.

When we Believe that our desire are ALREADY Fulfilled, Believe, beyond doubt, that what we are asking for is Already ours, then that which we desire MUST be Expressed in to our Experiential reality.

As he who came to be known as Jesus shared with us shared with us:

What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them — Mark 11:24

And:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive — Matthew 21:21-22

Now again these have been greatly misconstrued by the church to the extent that the impression has been conveyed that if the “believer” petitions God in the form of a request – a prayer – it will be answered and “given”.

In truth, these passages teach that if we have a desire, and we think, feel and behave as if we already Experience that desire – Sublime Faith – then so shall it be.

Only worry, doubt and fear can prevent the expression of the experience.

There is truly nothing on Earth we Cannot experience, nothing we cannot heal, nothing we cannot be if only we have Faith enough to accept and Believe the truth that whatsoever we seek or desire is ALREADY Ours. This is the meaning of true Faith.

Here then is another Truth.

It is Impossible to Imagine anything that we cannot Experience.

In other words – if we have the capacity to Imagine It, we may experience It.

Faith is the power that expresses imagination In to Experience through Belief.

Does this mean then that we, as Expressions of Source enjoy unlimited power?

As the Mystic, messenger anf healer known as Jesus aptly stated:

I can of mine own self do nothing — John 5:30

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works — John 14:10

All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him — Luke 10:22

For clarity, the statement: “Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him”

I hope now that you have gained a better understanding of the true meaning of Faith and we realle ARE. When we can fully understand, integrate and Express this Faith, then we can truly, as Jesus suggested, move mountains.

Now I have quoted many biblical passages so I would like to make it clear for the benefit of newer members that there are no religious implications whatsoever. I am simply quoting the words of he who came be known as Jesus – in his original context and meaning as he Intended.

So should we “have faith in God”?

No.

We Should Have Faith In And AS God within us All

And So It Is.
