What Is The Difference Between Faith And Belief

In expressing, realising our own experience, along with Imagination, discussed in the previous blog post, Faith and Belief in absolute terms are very relevant. The words “faith” and “belief” have been misinterpreted, largely due to religious influence brought about by literal interpretation of the Bible. In this blog post therefore we will use the Bible as a reference in discussing the true meanings of Faith and Belief.

I should once again mention that my use of the word God and references to biblical quotes is in no way whatsoever religiously motivated. The great Mystic, Messenger, Healer and Metaphysician who came to be known as “Jesus” taught many very profound lessons for those with “the eyes to see and the “ears to hear”, in other words have the capacity to see and understand the deeper, esoteric meaning. The bible is the most esoteric book ever written, but these blog posts will help readers bring the esoteric to conscious realisation.

That said, we will now look at some quotes from the Bible pertaining to what is the difference between Faith and Belief.

Now Faith Is The Substance Of Things Hoped For, The Evidence Of Things Not Seen. ~ Hebrews 11:1

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his Heart, but shall Believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; He Shall Have Whatsoever He Saith. Therefore I Say Unto You, What Things Soever Ye Desire, When Ye Pray, Believe That Ye Receive Them, And Ye Shall Have Them. ~ Mark 11:23 – 4

And Jesus said unto His disciples, “Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap, they neither have storehouse nor barn, and God feedeth them. How much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you by taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek ye not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubting mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But Rather Seek Ye The Kingdom Of Heaven, And All These Things Shall Be Added Unto You. “Fear Not, Little Flock, For It Is Your Father’s Good Pleasure To Give You The Kingdom
. ~ Luke 12:22 – 32

Now in discussing what is the difference between Faith and Belief, then let us look at what The Bible really meant, esoterically.

What Is Faith

FAITH is Faith IN God. Meaning – Faith Through And As God.

We Are All Equal Children – Expressions – Images – Of God. We are All The One, Source, God together, and the same Divine powers, the powers that created and maintains the Universe of All That Is are within us all.

So Faith IN God Is To Know and fully Realise Our Inner Divine powers AS God and that accordingly all things are possible to us.

Now Faith Is The Substance Of Things Hoped For, The Evidence Of Things Not Seen. ~ Hebrews 11:1

In Other Words. Faith Is The Absolute Knowing That Whatever We Have A Burning Desire For, And Have Imagined and Feel Is True, Although Not Yet Seen Or Experienced, Will Become Substance, Our Experiential Reality In Due Course, Through Our God-Given Powers.

This Then Is The True, Esoteric, Biblical Meaning of FAITH.

The Biblical Phrase “Rest in The Lord” means literally to Maintain Divine Faith That The Fruits of Our Faith, Belief and Imagination Are On The Way to be experienced.

BELIEF In God: “If Thou Canst Believe, All Things Are Possible To Him That Believeth. ~ Mark 9:23.

So yes: Belief is in fact a Divine Spiritual and Metaphysical Principle.

Well, Belief is the Spiritual, Metaphysical and Divine Power, Energy, Behind The Imagination.

The more we Believe our Imagination as True, the quicker it will become Experiential Reality that we may enjoy it in the physical.

Therefore I Say Unto You, What Things Soever Ye Desire, When Ye Pray, Believe That Ye Receive Them, And Ye Shall Have Them. ~ Mark 11:23 – 4

Now Prayer is one way of accessing the Principle of Belief through the gateway of the Subconscious, Subjective Mind.

But Rather Seek Ye The Kingdom Of God, And All These Things Shall Be Added Unto You. “Fear Not, Little Flock, For It Is Your Father’s Good Pleasure To Give You The Kingdom. ~ Luke 12:22 – 32

So in considering the question of what is the difference between Faith and Belief, Faith And Belief Are Principle And Must Be Realised Intuitively, Not Simply Be Understood At A Mental Level.

How may we recognise Faith?

Well – everyone engages in acts of Faith almost every day.

For example. If we call a taxi and instruct the driver to take us to a specific destination, we have FAITH that the driver will duly drive us to that destination, and not take us somewhere else, or worse rob us or whatever.

FAITH Is the absolute knowing of our Inner Divine powers, and the Implicit acceptance of an expected outcome.

This can be related to everyday life.

If a person is admitted to hospital for surgery, the patient has absolute FAITH that the surgeon and anaesthetist will not harm or kill them while unconscious and helpless, under the influence of the general anaesthetic.

When we ride on an underground train, metro, subway etc, and climb aboard that little tubular train, when the doors close and the train starts moving at high speed in to the dark underground tunnel, we have FAITH that the train driver knows what is doing, and will not make a mistake, causing a horrific accident.

When we fly on a passenger jet, we have absolute Faith that the pilots are properly trained and competent, and will land safely at the destination.

What Is Belief

Now let us look at the Principle of Belief.

BELIEF is easier to define and conceptualise in many ways.

For example – if it is raining outside, we BELIEVE that if we go out in the rain without a coat on, we will get wet.

If we are driving a car, we BELIEVE that if we depress the accelerator pedal the car will go faster, and if we depress the brake pedal the car will travel more slowly or stop.

If is midnight, we BELIEVE that if we look out of the window, it will be dark outside.

And there are countless other examples of Belief that we meet every day.

Belief Comes Through Faith IN God, ergo, they are closely related.

In concluding this blog post, keep in Mind this final biblical quotation:

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you ~ Matthew 7:7.

In a further blog post, having discussed what is the difference between Faith and Belief, we will discuss how Faith and Belief are fundamental factors in The Principle of Expression.

And So It Is.
